Nigerian School Timetable Generator

Building a school timetable by hand usually means days of trial and error — a teacher double-booked, a subject that needs a lab slot landing at the wrong time, Friday's shorter periods thrown off entirely. This tool replaces that process with a constraint-based generation engine: you set up your classes, subjects, teachers and their availability once, and the system builds a full-school, conflict-free timetable automatically.

How the workflow goes

1. Classes — create your classes exactly as your school names them (JSS 1A, Primary 3, SS 2 Science...).
2. Subjects — mark which ones need double/triple periods or a specific room (e.g. a Computer Lab).
3. Teachers — add teachers, mark full-time vs part-time, and set daily/weekly load limits.
4. Assignments — link teacher + class + subject with the exact weekly frequency needed.
5. Teacher availability — block out days/periods for part-time or visiting staff.
6. Periods & breaks — configure Monday–Thursday periods, an independent Friday structure, and breaks.
7. Generate — run a full-school, single-class, or single-day generation and review the score and any conflicts.
8. Fine-tune — drag-and-drop edits, lock important lessons, and keep full version history to restore an earlier timetable at any time.

The generator is deliberately conservative: it never forces a lesson into a slot that breaks a hard constraint. If it can't find a valid slot, it reports that as a conflict or shortage instead of silently producing a broken timetable — so a "successful" generation always means every placed lesson is genuinely conflict-free.
